Preschool
The application for preschool class starts on Wednesday, 21st of October 2020 and ends on Friday, 22nd of January 2021. You can apply for it in the secretary’s office of our primary school.
To register your child, you will need…
- your child’s birth certificate,
- your identification card or passport,
- the certification of the latest age-appropriate medical preventive examination, (U8 and U9; yellow examination book) and
- the medical certificate of measles vaccination.
First grade
The school application for grade one starts on Tuesday, 5th of January 2020 and ends on Friday 22nd of January 2021. You can apply for it in the secretary’s office of our primary school.
Therefore, you will need…
- application form taken from the invitation letter (filled in),
- your child’s birth certificate,
- your identification card or passport,
- the medical certificate of measles vaccination and
- the certification of the latest age-appropriate medical preventive examination, (U8 and U9; yellow examination book). If your child has visited the school doctor, a medical certificate of the doctor’s visit is sufficient.
Besides the school application for grade one a school doctor’s visit is also part of the school entrance. Here, the school’s entry examination for your child will take place.
A notification for your child’s admission to our primary school can be expected at the end of March. The class teachers will invite your child to a trail lesson at our primary school shortly before summer holidays start.
Fifth grade
For our fifth grade you can register your child with our head of Department for grade 5 to 8, Frau Grobecker, from Monday, 1st of February to Friday, 5th of February 2021 between 8.00am and 2.00pm, on Thursdays until 4.00pm.
Therefore, you will need…
- the primary school’s assessment sheet for further school career,
- the half-yearly report,
- your identification card or passport and a certificate of registration (proof of residence) and
- the medical certificate of measles vaccination (if new to Hamburg).
Frau Grobecker will be available for your questions and will receive your wishes regarding the admission to the Brass Band Class (Bläserklasse+), Europe Studies Class (Europaklasse), Aquatic Sports Class (Wassersportklasse), STEM Class (Nawi-Klasse) and one regular class.
Before summer holidays start your child will find out, which class your child will attend and who will be your child’s class teacher. There will also be a first icebreaker afternoon with parents and pupils of the new class before summer holidays.
